Surgery
It is done under general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia, lasts one hour and requires 2 nights of hospitalization. A horizontal or slightly curved incision of 15 cm is usually done just above the pubis, about 6 to 7 cm above the vulva. Sometimes, we need to tighten the abdominal muscles below the umbilicus.
The mini-tummy tuck or abdominal mini-lift is often associated with the liposuction of abdomen, flanks, thighs or hips for a more harmonious result.The surgery is much “lighter” than full abdominoplasty or full tummy tuck.
Post operative recovery
A garment is worn for 2 to 3 weeks after the surgery. The pain is bearable and relieved by analgesics prescribed by the surgeon. The stitches are inside the dermis (subcutaneous layer), they are absorbable stitches which dissolve spontaneously within 6 weeks, so no need to be removed.
The result of an abdominal mini-lift is final and very satisfactory. The final result is observed within 6 to 8 weeks.
Duration of stay
The duration of stay for abdominal mini-lift in Tunisia is usually 5 nights/6 days.
This time will allow your physician to provide you with an optimal follow up. He will also see you at his office the day preceding your return back home.
