Goal
Breast lift or mastopexy aims to correct mammary ptosis following breast feeding or weight loss.
Surgery
It takes 2 to 3 hours and requires 3 nights of hospitalization.
The surgery is done under general anesthesia. The mammary gland is repositioned and the excess skin is removed in order to lift the breast and to give a youthful shape. The surgeon will place an elastic dressing in the shape of a bra at the end of the procedure.
Post operative period
Mild analgesics usually relieve the pain for the first week.Bruises disappear within one to 2 weeks. The first dressing Breast Liftis removed after 24 hours and is replaced by a support bra that should be worn night and day for one month. Heavy weight and arm abduction is avoided for a period of a month. Silicone sheets and gel on scars should be used for 3 months.
The result which can be seen right away will continue to improve over the next 3 to 6 months.
Duration of stay
The duration of stay for a breast lifting in Tunisia is usually 6 nights/7 days.
This time will allow your physician to provide you with an optimal follow up.
He will also see you at his office the day preceding your return back home.
The recovery period spent in Tunisia is usually quite beneficial and allows most of our patients to resume their professional activities as soon as they arrive home.
