Liposuction in Tunisia

Goal

Liposuction is a surgical intervention which aims to remove fat cells localized in certain areas of the body such as: hips, thighs, buttocks and that are resistant to dieting . It is not indicated in case of obesity (generalized body fat repartition). The silhouette is sculpted and redesigned to redefine harmonious curves.When the skin is too loose abdominoplasty thigh lifting and arms lifting is added.

the amount of fat tissue that can be eliminated depends on several factors such as size and the elasticity of the cutaneous tissues but does not exceed 2 or 3 liters generally though in specific cases it can reach and exceed 10 liters.

Surgery

the duration of the surgery varies depending on the amount of fat to be removed, the type of anesthesia (under general or local anesthesia) and  the techniques that will be used that’s why  ½ hour to 2 hours are necessary . The patient is admitted for 3 nights.

Through minuscule incisions , the surgeon aspirates fat cells with a canula inserted with holes connected to a suction device. the type of the canula used depends on the caliber (usually 4-5 mm) and also on the shape and number of holes made. the cannula passes into adipose tissue with radial movements so that the grinding of the fat is homogeneous and the connective fibers, responsible for the anti-aesthetic aspect, are interrupted. The small scars will be almost invisible.

Postoperative period

At the end of the surgery, a panty ,which should be worn day and night for at least 6 weeks, is placed.It will act as a compressive dressing decreasing post operative edema Ecchymosis and swelling are a common finding in the operated areas. An infusion of intravenous fluids will be required overnight along with IV analgesics and sedatives to keep the patient comfortable.

24 to 48 hours of rest are required after the inetrvention, then daily activities can gradually resume. It is advisable that after about a month, the patient devotes himself to a sport activity preferably to swimming in order to tone the muscles and foster the healing of the tissues.

Antibiotics, and possibly anti-inflammatories, should be taken for about 5 days.

After approximately 2 weeks the surgery, it is advisable to start a massage and lymphatic drainage cycle to inhence the absorption of fluids and the recovery of the lymphatic circulation, promoting better recovery and toning of the skin.

Duration of the stay

The duration of the stay for liposuction in Tunisia is usually 6 nights/7days.

This time will allow your physician to provide you with an optimal follow up.

He will also see you at his office the day preceding your return home.

The recovery period spent in Tunisia is usually quite beneficial and allows most of our patients to resume their professional activities as soon as they arrive home.
